Martyrs' Day ( _ar. عيد الشهداء) is a syrian national holiday commemorating the Syrian nationalists excuted in Damascus on May 6, 1916 by Jamal Pasha, the ottoman wali. They were executed in the Marjeh Square in Damascus. It has since then been renamed to Martyrs' Square.
