The band has independently recorded, distributed, produced and toured for over a decade. The Reddmen have been featured to soundtrack a pivotal episode of hit series Grey's Anatomy, appeared at Al Gore's 2007 festival Live Earth. The Reddmen have attained spaces in national publications such as New York Times, Razorcake, and Maxim Magazine. Although there have been several line-up changes through out the years, since 2003 The Reddmen have been comprised of J. Waylon Porcupine (guitar and vocals), Miyo One Arrow (percussion) and Trevor Leo (bass).

History

Early Years

The Reddmen, originally composed J. Waylon Porcupine, Miyo One Arrow and close friend Ramon Bear Runner in the late 90's. The first year Ramon, Miyo and J. Waylon, worked to cultivate a sound more synonymous with pop-punk of the early 90's. "We tried to rip off ALL and Green Day, but we just sounded like shit. Nothing at all like those bands," J. Waylon describes. The second year, The Reddmen added Doug Two Bulls as a bass player after Ramon's departure. This was far from the last bass player the band would burn through over a decade. The three played shows spanning through the mid-western rock music circuit and shared the bill with acts such as [http://www.availavail.com Avail] , [http://www.nomeanswhatever.com/ No Means No] , and [http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendid=69924128 The Nobodys] .

In 1999, J. Waylon was approached by Mike Epps of [http://www.stereotyperider.com Stereotyperider] to play bass for Stereotyperider on their upcoming US tour. A week after J. Waylon accepted, he was approached by Scared of Chaka to play bass ontheir US tour. After discussing the logistics of touring with either band, he moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and embarked on eight collective weeks of touring with Scared of Chaka.

Waylon returned home to The Reddmen, minus Doug and set forth with Miyo to rework the next incarnation of The Reddmen.

ons of The Morningstar

After Doug's departure from the band J. Waylon and Miyo were yet again, looking for someone to wiggle into their rock band. They recruited several different substitute members from their side-project bands, and eventually reaching a temporary sollution in Kris Schmidt. Kris was a suitable addition to The Reddmen until early 2003 when he made a sudden exit from the band, luckily, the band's merch boy and roady Trevor Leo was more than capable of filling in the gap as the new bass player. Five years later, Trevor still fits as both a consistent member and as the band teases "Longest Lasting Whiteboy." The Reddmen recorded first release "Sons of The Morningstar" in 2003, with J.Waylon and Miyo, performing all of the recording themselves with a single microphone. They toured fall of 2004 to promote the album.

Arsenic Ballads

After roughly two years of extensive touring of the bulk of the US, The Reddmen recorded "Arsenic Ballads" which was released in 2006. Shortly there after The Reddmen were contacted by Grey's Anatomy to be feature their song "The Secrets of Amanda Prines" off of "Sons of The Morningstar" during the opening credits of Season 3, episode 21 entitled "Desire."

A few months past the Grey's Anatomy airing, The Reddmen were contacted by New York Times in order to seek their review of [http://www.tankabar.com Tanka Bars] , a snack geared toward the Native American demographic.
