Le Tourment Vert Absinthe translated as "The Green Torment" is a traditional handcrafted French absinthe, imported from the French Distillerie Vinet EGE, near Cognac City, France. [Distillerie Vinet Ege]

As found in all traditional absinthes, Le Tourment Vert contains the “Holy Trinity”: Anise, Fennel and Grand Wormwood (Artemisia Absinthium). In addition, Le Tourment Vert contains a unique combination of herbs, including sage, rosemary, coriander, and eucalyptus.

Historically, most absinthes contained between 60 and 75 percent alcohol by volume (120 to 150 proof). [Wormwood Society] Le Tourment Vert is 100 proof (50 percent alcohol by volume), which allows it to be served in a variety of ways, as a straight shot, diluted with sugar (The “Ritual”), or in mixed drinks.

Le Tourment Vert contains the maximum amount of thujone allowed by the U.S. Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau, 10ppm.

Tourmented Films

French Absinthe brand Le Tourment Vert, in cooperation with Converge Entertainment, announced on June 23, 2008 the launch of their newest venture, a full-service film production company titled Tourmented Films. Established to create edgy short films that carry the look and feel of the absinthe genre, Tourmented Films officially launched with a ten-minute 3-D short film titled The Butler's in Love directed by David Arquette and starring Arquette, Elizabeth Berkley, Thomas Jane and Jennifer Siebel.
