The Audubon Jazz Explosion Big Band were an American
Jazz band that performed in and around thePhiladelphia area from1994 to2003 . Led by Collegeville Saxophonist/ClarinetistBruce A. Greenwald , the band performed much of the repertoire of Stan Kenton, Count Basie, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Duke Ellington, and Benny Goodman. The band was modeled after theWest Chester University Criterions Jazz Ensemble and performed at summer jazz festivals as well as private functions. The Audubon Jazz Explosion produced two professional recordings. Their Debut CD was first featured on WPEN 950 AM shortly after release. The second CD, "Summertime" was featured nationally and internationally and was a tribute to the types of music performed at the band's summer jazz festivals. The band was renamed in 2004 to theJump City Jazz Orchestra and continues to perform in Southeastern Pennsylvania.Bruce A. Greenwald continues to play in and aroundPhiladelphia performing with the22 Park Avenue Big Band , theMain Street Sound Big Band , thePhiladelphia Legends of Jazz Orchestra , and various musical theater pit orchestra productions.External links
