Yaakov Kirschen is an American-Israeli comic book artist and writer.

Biography

Kirschen was born in Brooklyn as Jerry Kirschen in March 8, 1938. He graduated from Queens College in 1961 and became a freelance gag cartoonist for Cracked magazine, and later on created cartoons for Playboy.

Kirschen immigrated to to Israel in 1971. In Israel he changed his first name to Yaakov. In 1973 he began drawing his own daily editorial strip called 'Dry Bones' for Jerusalem Post which was a satire about the weekly current events in Israel. He has created the strip for the paper ever since.
