NFC Institute of Engineering and Technological Training

The NFC Institute of Engineering and Technological Training (NFC IET) is the training center of the National Fertilizer Corporation (NFC) of Pakistan. It is an engineering college serving mainly the areas of Southern Punjab province "Two engineering institutes granted university status to Institute of Engineering and Technology Training in Multan and Institute of Engineering and Fertilizer Research in Faisalabad".

National Fertilizer Corporation of Pakistan is one of the largest employers of qualified engineers particularly in the field of Chemical Engineering. In order to meet the requirement of trained manpower for chemical process industry especially in the fertilizer sector, a Training Centre was established in 1985 with the technical assistance of M/s. COSMO International Co., Ltd., Japan. ... The Centre trained managers, engineers, supervisors, operators/ technicians through multi-dimensional programs that vary widely in content and duration for all types of process and engineering industry.

To further diversify the activities of the Centre and in line with the education policy announced by the Government of Pakistan, NFC with the approval of Ministry of Industries & Production, Government of Pakistan upgraded the Centre in 1994 and started graduate engineering classes initially in Chemical Engineering discipline and changed its nomenclature as “NFC Institute of Engineering & Technological Training”. This was also the need of the country and particularly of this area.

The degree programs at NFC IET Multan are affiliated with Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan. Pakistan Engineering Council, the apex body to regulate Engineering education in the country has recognized and accredited “NFC Institute of Engineering & Technological Training, Multan on the basis of its facilities and high standards of Engineering Education.

First batch of 45 students was admitted to B.Sc. (Engineering) Chemical Engineering First Professional class for the session 1993-97 in April, 1994 which passed out in 1998, exactly after four year of their admission. Similarly, the second batch admitted in April 1995, graduated in 1999 and so on. The graduates are well placed in the Chemical/Process industry of Pakistan.

Students from all over Pakistan are undergoing studies for the persuit of Bachelor’s degree program in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, BS Computer Science(Software Engineering), Computer System Engineering, Electronics Engineering and BS Environmental Sciences at the Institute.

The Institute is located in close proximity to PakArab Fertilizers Ltd Multan., which is one of the biggest chemical process complex in the country, and provides a strong technical backup to t he Institute. The practical engineering education facilities which are available in the Institute, such as Distributed Control System (DCS), Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Miniature Plant provide added benefits to students in learning actual plant operation, process control and plant optimization. These facilities have no parallel in other engineering institutions/ universities of Pakistan.

Bachelor's Degree Programmes include:

  • Electrical Engineering
  • Chemical Engineering
  • BS Computer Science(Software Engineering)
  • Computer System Engineering
  • Electronics Engineering
  • BS Environmental Sciences.
