"Blepharotes splendidissimus" is a robber fly in the family Asilidae found in Eastern Australia. Recognised by its shiny black abdomen, it is the second largest of its genus. It was described by the German naturalist Christian Rudolph Wilhelm Wiedemann in 1830.
