Carruthers Shield

The Welsh Bowling Associations, Club Championship (Dubbed as the FA Cup of Welsh Bowls) is a tournament which has been runing since 1919. The entrants compete for the Carruthers Shield a highly acclaimed trophy among the W.B.A, if you have won the Carruthers Shield you are considered as one of the best teams in Wales. It involves two separate parts first a preliminary round where over 250 teams from all the welsh counties are placed into 64 groups where they compete between each other to go through to the main knockout stages of the championship.
