Edward Get Getyński

Major Edward Get Getyński (born Gott) (1900-1943) [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ciolek_Coat_of_Arms] was one of the leaders of the Polish resistance movement in World War II who organised during 1940-1941 extensive sabotage of the railway networks which were being utilised by the advancing German occupying forces. The sabotage ended at the beginning of 1942 with the arrest of its leaders as a result of infiltration by Gestapo agent Wegnera-Romanowski. Major Get-Getynski was arrested on the 2nd of February 1942 and taken to Auschwitz where despite all the torture and suffering he had undergone he committed himself to leading insurgent activities against the Germans. As a result of this he faced a firing squad and was executed on the 25th of January 1943.
