White Flame

White Flame is finnish R'n'R act consists of four members Vince, Anthon, Sammye, Jony.

The band is the re-incarnation of Rock&Roll in the 21st Century. Just like their predecessors, White Flame gives homage to the root of all groovy, the Blues, but with a take that only the Few Greats before them have reached. Musicianship, energy, ambition and a drive to be the best is what defines this Quartet of Quality

History

The whole story began in Finland year 2002 and two years later White Flame released their first demo cd called Reaching the Sky. After a five-song ep The World We Live In the band started to tour all over Finland. The second Internet single Romeo & Juliet raised nationwide enthusiasm and got them a fan club in Germany.

The change of the lead singer brought the band more roughness and their second internet single RockHard spread to tens of thousands homes in Finland, as well to the knowledge of record companies. In a matter of weeks White Flame signed a two year and two album contract. The indie label North & South was known for some gold selling albums, but especially for high quality. The band got a professional promoter and their long waited actual debut single in January 2007 was RockHard, backed by Yesterday's News.


To make sure that the talent of this fab four didn´t go waste, White Flame got the best producers possible for their album to be released in August 2007. No other than the dudes behind Hanoi Rocks' Twelve Shots on the Rocks and Another Hostile Takeover albums Hannu Leiden and Petri Majuri teamed up with the band to record the debut at Seawolf Studios, an island just outside Helsinki.

May 2007 their next single Kill The Radio, with Your Joint Tonight, was released. At the same time their music video of Kill The Radio was launched, the energetic piece is directed by one of the rare female music video directors Sarri Seppä. However, in London music channel MTV decided in it's great power that the video of this anti-playlist anthem was not suitable for day-time airing. Therefore a ban was put on the video, not allowing it to be shown before 21:00!

Finns fought back. Kill the Radio made it's Official Finnish Singles Chart Top 20 debut on June 27th 2007 giving the band their first ever #1 hit. The band was more than pleased with the result, especially with the song getting limited or even no air time on major radio station playlists.

After all the troubles and turmoil White Flame was proud to present their first album Yesterday's News in August 22nd 2007. The critics were overwhelming: "It´s hard to exceed White Flame as the most interesting new Finnish rock band" and “The toughest new band this year has produced a real diamond". One of the tracks is featuring Hanoi Rocks´ legendary Michael Monroe himself. The particular song Swimsuit Issue Centerfold was a clear winner on a Radio Poll arranged by Finnish National Broadcasting company YLE.

The band was estimated to be the toughest new rockband in Finland that year. Vince´s internationally high-ranked vocal talents combined to his appearance with blood heritage from Caribbean St. Kitts & Nevis Islands, Anthons hard rocking but melodic guitar playing, Sammye´s artistic bass manouvers and Jony keeping it all together with solid drumming and percussion…

In February 2008 White Flame made its first tour abroad, to United Kingdom. They were invited by Birmingham based Rattlesnake Remedy to support them on three shows. It was only rock´n´roll, but people liked it!

Many bands want to take over the world, but the rebellious White Flame headed next to outer space. The band signed a deal with Star Wreck group over their next music video. Star Wreck´s previous film – a comedy version of Star Trek – has been loaded through the internet some 6 million times internationally. White Flame´s music video Hour Of Emptiness was filmed in the dark side of the moon. But how can an indie label North & South afford space battleship animation worth of tens of thousands dollars? It´s simple, make the director a fan.

Live is the word that should be connected to White Flame, the band is one of the best live performers in Finland. In addition to that, White Flame released a rare live single in the summer of 2008, the song was fan´s long time favourite Phoenix (Live@UK)
