Mieke Van Every

Mieke Van Every is a Logie Award nominated, Australian-born, television host, documentary producer, and sports broadcaster.(Previously "Mieke Buchan")

Her work in 2008 includes her role as field reporter on the Fox Sports US coverage of the Red Bull Air Race World Series, hosting her sports and leisure series, Destination, for Tennis Channel, continuing work on her film review series, Previews, for the STC channel, and commencing work on 2 new documentary travel series.

Career

Mieke began her career in Australia, hosting the weekend edition of Toyota World Sports, as well as appearing on various other sports, travel and entertainment shows, on SBS, Fox, Channel 10 Australia, National Geographic channel, and Fox Sports. Her work at SBS included daily updates from their World Cup Soccer coverage, anchoring the weekend edition of Toyota World Sports, and hosting breaking international soccer news and results on the The World Game. She has lived in Los Angeles since 2003, and works internationally.

Since her re-location to the United States, Van Every, has continued to cover the world's largest sports and entertainment events, on networks including ABC, ESPN, Fox Sports Net, National Geographic, Encore, and the Tennis Channel.

She has covered events including the Olympic Games, US Open Tennis, French Open Tennis, Super Bowl, Formula 1, The Starz (TV network) Encore AX awards, & The Aria Awards. Van Every has interviewed many of the world's most prominent athletes, actors and directors, and is known for her relaxed, well-informed, and irreverent approach.

In 2008: - Mieke is the new field-reporter for Red Bull Air Race World Series seen in the U.S. on Fox Sports Net, and just wrapped work on race 2 of this year's series in San Diego (May 3 & 4). Abu Dabi, Detroit, Stockholm, Rotterdam, London, Budapest, Porto, Spain, and Perth, all on the 2008 schedule. - She hosted OFF THE STRIP WITH MIEKE BUCHAN, a travel television special, for TENNIS CHANNEL. In this special, Mieke jumps out of plane, goes land-sailing, dresses up as a Jubilee show-girl, dons a few costumes from the Cirque du Soleil MYSTIQUE show, rocks a go-cart, and samples Sin City's finest food and wine. - Mieke continues to host her international sports, travel and lifestyle series DESTINATION: Tennis. Locations on the 2008 schedule include: Aspen Colorado, Atlanta, South Carolina, Austria, Switzerland, and Barcelona. - Her feature film debut, in the independent film, DETACHED, will be screened at international festivals throughout the year. - She continues to host her weekly film review show, PREVIEWS, on the STC film channel. She has now hosted over 200 episodes of this series in the last 4 years.

IN 2007: - She was the live pre-game host for the 2007 Super Bowl in Miami for live SBS Australia coverage. - Mieke worked as news update anchor for the US Open tennis tournament, for the Tennis Channel. - Mieke continues to host her international sports, travel and lifestyle series DESTINATION: Tennis. Locations on the 2007 schedule were - She provided news updates on the French Open (tennis) tournament and part of the tennis Channel's French Open Tonight, nightly wrap show. - She hosted 24 installments of the AX Action Movie awards for Encore which aired nationally throughout the year. - Mieke co-hosted The Celebrity Pro-Am Poker Equalizer for ABC/ESPN, which began airing Jan 7th, 2007 on ESPN along with host and commentator, Phil Gordon. This series is now airing internationally on ESPN. - She continued to anchor her weekly film review and interview show PREVIEWS on the Soundtrack Channel, which can be seen in over 30 countries (2004 - 2008). - Buchan also hosted a number of specials for The Tennis Channel (TTC), including The Glam Slam, US Open Tennis special, "Stars for Stars, A Celebration of Tennis Excellence", and "The Tennis Hall of Fame Newport Tennis Smash". - She also co-hosted Celebrity Poker at the Pechanga on Fox Sports (FSNW), which is currently being repeated on the network for the second time.
