(1990)"Indigo" was the third
album by British pop/jazz/soul/dance bandMatt Bianco , released in July 1988. It was their laststudio album forWEA Records , and it was out two years before their very firstGreatest Hits album , again forWEA Records , the UK Number 49 "The Best of Matt Bianco ", was released. By reaching Number 23 in theUK albums chart , it became the highest-chartinglong playing work for the group, and it also included their highest-charting single ever, thedouble A-side "Don't Blame It on That Girl" / "Wap-Bam-Boogie", Number 11 in theUK singles chart . The album follows the path started with the previous LP, the eponymous "Matt Bianco" of 1986, achieving even more success. Besides the big success of the first single, especially the dance-oriented "Wap-Bam-Boogie" ("Don't Blame It on That Girl", though pushed high in the charts by the other track, actually had a limited impact), the long playing work was promoted by three more singles: "Good Times", "Nervous", and "Say It's Not Too Late", none of which had any commercial success, stalling in the lower parts of the charts - the third single did not even enter theUK Top 75 , and it would be in fact re-included as aB side on "What a Fool Believes ", the second single from the fourth studio album by the band, "Samba in Your Casa " of 1991. The success of "Wap-Bam-Boogie" was instead so huge as to push the group not only to release a number ofremix versions of the hit, either at the time and in the next years, but it even prompted them towards a dance revolution in their style which, though disappointing early fans, would gain them new ones; however, it must be noticed that, maybe for a matter of balance, their next studio album, the mentioned "Samba in Your Casa", would feature a much moreLatin pop -oriented sound than their previous long-playing works, though not abandoning dancey rhythms. A final mention should go to the 2bonus track s only contained in thecompact disc edition: tworemix es of two of the five singles taken from the album: the «12" Mix» of "Dont' Blame It on That Girl", and the «Miami Mix» of "Good Times".Track listing
