Jon Newlee

Jon Newlee is the head women's basketball coach at the University of Idaho. He previously served for six years as the head women's basketball coach at Idaho State University. At Idaho State, he posted a 93-82 record including a 54-34 conference record. In 2004, Idaho produced the second biggest turnaround in the NCAA, going from 6-20 to 20-9. That year, Idaho State reached the Big Sky conference tournament finals. It also earned the first WNIT bid in school history.

In 2006, Idaho State made it to the NCAA tournament for the first time ever. His teams are usually good at free throw shooting. In 2007, Idaho State shot 83.2% from the free throw line, making it the best free throw percentage in ncaa history. His teams are known for their up-tempo style of offense. From 1999 to 2002, he served as an assistant at the University of Hawaii. From 1991 to 1999, he was an assistant coach at SMU.
