Frank Pierpoint Appleby

Frank Pierpoint Appleby is a former provincial level politician from Alberta, Canada. He served as a member of the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1971 to 1986.

Early life

Appleby enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. He attained the rank of Sergeant and ran in the 1944 Alberta general election service men vote. In that election he finished fifth out of a field of seven candidates taking just over 12% of the popular vote.cite news|date=February 6, 1945|publisher=The Albertan|title=2 Calgarians Elected in Servicemen's Vote|pages=12]

Political career

Appleby would return to politics by running as a Progressive Conservative candidate 27 years late in the 1971 Alberta general election.
