Description

The Františkánsky kostol a rímskokatolícky kláštor in Nové Zámky, Nitriansky, Slovakia is an important achitect building build between the years 1626-1631. The first first consecration of the church was done by ostrihomish cardinal Peter Pazmáň at 24 May 1631. At first it was only small church with shided roof and with small monastery. At the beginning of 18th century was the monastery in hands of Františka Rákocziho II. and Mikuláša Bercsényiho, who expanded monastery part. By the end of 19th century, according to plans of K. Bálintha have been done next renovation. The last complex reconstruction was done between 1978 and end of 20th century. Today the monastery serves as the location of the town museum and as a part of accommoditions for spiritual order of františkán monks.
