The lake is approximately 7.8 km in length, NE to SW, and averages 2.4km in width and is approximately 18 km² in area.The recreational and
Secwepemc First Nations community of Chase (known as "Quaaout" in theSecwepemc language ) is at the lake's southern end. The smaller community of Squilax lies at the lake's northern end, on the north side of the estuary of the Little River.
