- Antil Plains Aerodrome
Antil Plains Aerdodrome was an aerodrome located convert|19.38|km south of
Townsville, Queensland ,Australia nearAntill Plains .The aerodrome was constructed in 1942, during
World War II , for theRoyal Australian Air Force as part of a group of airfields to be used as aircraft dispersal fields in the event ofImperial Japanese attack on the Townsville area. It was leased to theUnited States Army Air Force .The aerodrome had two runways, one running east-west and the other NE-SW.
It was abandoned after the war.
