"Secrets at Sea" is a

The story, set in the 16th century, follows a young girl by the name of Zandra. After being adopted by evil people who seem to have no other use for her than to marry her off, she plots to run away. She assumes the identity of Zander, a 15-year-old boy, and takes the position of cabin boy on a leaving ship.
Once on the sea, she in unexpectedly hit with amorous feelings for her fellow cabin boy, Colt. The story is a whirlwind of emotions, colourful characters, adventures, and the coming of age of one remarkable young woman. There are sea troubles, pirates, deserted islands, shipwrecks, and the testing strength of love across many boundaries.

Born May 19th, 1990, the author completed the novel at the age of 13. The publishing date fell during her junior year in high school. She has been praised by critics and peers alike. Living outside of
