Teed received his B.A. degree "
cum laude " inhistory fromNew York University in1986 and M.A. degree in history from theUniversity of Connecticut in1989 . In1994 , Teed received hisPh. D. from theUniversity of Connecticut .Teed joined the faculty of
Saginaw Valley State University in1997 , and in2000 became atenured professor. His wife, Melissa Teed, is also a professor ofhistory atSaginaw Valley State University .In
2000 , Teed was awarded the Franc A.Landee Award for Teaching Excellence bySaginaw Valley State University , and in2003 he received the Faculty Recognition Award for Scholarship from theSaginaw Valley State University Faculty Association. Those two awards are the most prestigious awards atSaginaw Valley State University Works
Paul Teed is the author of the book "
John Quincy Adams : Yankee Nationalist" and several academic articles. His interests cover social/cultural 19th centuryUnited States , theAmerican Civil War , and Americanreligion .Teed is currently writing a book on the
abolitionist Theodore Parker , the subject of his doctoraldissertation which was 402 pages and titled "A Very Excellent Fanatic, A Very Good Infidel And A First-Rate Traitor" : Theodore Parker And The Search For Perfection In Antebellum America". Teed's new book onTheodore Parker is titled: "A Revolutionary Conscience: Theodore Parker and Antebellum America".External links
