National coach of Thailand since 2005. Chanvit is current guiding Thailand through the World Cup Qualification process.

His first game in charge was against Latvia in the Kings Cup whih ended in a 1-1 draw.

Chanvit coached Thailand as they co-hosted the Asian Cup 2007 event.

Chanvit was approached to take over a club side in Vietnam, and at one point accepted, but within a few days returned to coach Thailand again, due to a short fall in money offered by the Vietnamese club side.
