- Anna Galvan
Anna Galvan nee Veronese (born
20 November 1978 in Christchurch,New Zealand ) is a retired New Zealandnetball player. Galvan has played for twoNational Bank Cup franchises as a defender (Canterbury Flames 1998–2002) and the (Southern Sting , 2003–2005). She was a key defender in the champion Southern Sting's success as well as performing for her original Flames. Galvan retired in 2006 to have her second child to Hugh Galvan, her husband.International netball
Galvan has had previous international netball experience including being part of the
Silver Ferns in 2002 and 2003 including the World Championships and Commonwealth Games before falling pregnant in the National Bank Cup off-season, missing out on a three-test series against Australia being replaced byLeana de Bruin who retained the position. Galvan has also been part of the New Zealand Under 21 squad in 1998 and the New Zealand A Squad in 2000, 2001, 2004 and 2005.References
