Belclare Castle , a ruined fortress of theO'Hara family.The village, as well as the surrounding townlands, has a strong musical tradition, and is well-known for its musicians and singers, particularly in Irish traditional music. The last two native Irish speakers from County Sligo lived in Culdaly (Coill Dá Laogh) in the
