- Kevin Bubriski
Kevin Bubriski (1954-present) is an American documentary photographer.
Life and Career
Bubriski was born in North Adams, Massachusetts. He attended
Bowdoin College inBrunswick, Maine , graduating in 1975. He worked as a photographer for nine years in Nepal and has also photographed trips to India, Tibet, and Bangladesh.He has received fellowships from the
Guggenheim Foundation , theNational Endowment for the Arts , and theAsian Cultural Council . His work can be found in the permanent collections of theMuseum of Modern Art , TheMetropolitan Museum of Art , and theInternational Center of Photography , all in New York, as well as theSan Francisco Museum of Modern Art , theYale University Art Gallery , theCenter for Creative Photography in Tucson,and theBibliothèque Nationale de France in Paris. In 2002, his work was included in a group exhibition about September 11th at theLibrary of Congress . His book, "Portrait of Nepal" won theGolden Light Documentary Award in 1993 and his work has been featured in several publications, including theNew York Times and theLA Times .Published Works
