Alberro was signed by the Texas Rangers as an amateur free agent in 1991. He then spent the next four and a half seasons in the Rangers' minor league system. He was called up to the major league club on April 27, 1995. The next three years of his career was split between the Rangers and their AAA team in Oklahoma City. His last game was August 5, 1997. On August 11, 1997, he was claimed on waivers by the New York Yankees as the Rangers tried to send him to the minors again. Albuerro played three more years in the minor leagues, but was never able to return to a major league ball club.
