Afonso Paulo Martins da Agra (born
Póvoa de Varzim ,11 April 1973 ) is a former Portuguese footballer. He played as a midfielder.His family emmigrated to
France when he was very young. He first played at the highest level atNancy , from 1992/1993 to 1994/1995. He then moved toPortugal to representSporting Lisbon , from 1995/1996 to 2000/2001. He went on a loan to the B team the same season, to return for the 2001/2002, only to being loaned again. Afonso Martins won the titles of theCup of Portugal , in 1996, and of theSuperLiga , for 1999/2000 and 2001/2002.He then left the team to play for
Moreirense (2002/2003),Vitória de Guimarães (2003/2004) and again toMoreirense (2004/2005). After a season inactive, he played a final time forLixa (2006/2007), before putting an end to his career.He played for the National Team at the U-21 category and for the Olympic National Team that reached the 4 th place at the
1996 Olympic Games , inAtlanta . He scored both goals at the 2-0 win overTunisia , in the first game.External links
