Marc Constant (born
February 21 ,1970 ) is a Bassist &Composer .Marc Constant was born in Aux Cayes, Haiti. As a young boy, Marc had a strong passion for the arts. His paintings during his years in the New York City public school system was acknowledged by the Mayor of New York City Edward Koch for its creativity and forward-looking concepts. Marc Constant attended Queens College. During his junior year, he decided to study music and also take private lessons from his cousin Marcelin Denis. While at Queens College, Marc met Donald Byrd and Jimmy Heath. They shared their knowledge of music with him. After graduating Queens College with a major in economics, he attended Hunter College to continue his music studies. After completing the music program at Hunter College, Marc began a freelance career playing music. Marc is well regarded as a bass player with a superb tone that has his own voice on both the electric and upright bass. He has performed with Frank Lacy, Bernard Wright, Rob Gill, Curtis Fowlkes, Welf Dorr, David Tunnell and Sam Knight to name a few. Currently, he leads a Jazz/Fusion/Neo soul group.
