Jürgen Klopp (born 16 June 1967 in Stuttgart) is a German football manager, currently in charge of Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.

He was the manager of 1. FSV Mainz 05 for 8 years. During this period he led the team to its first appearance in the German Fußball-Bundesliga. Prior to his managing career, he played 340 games for Mainz 05 from 1990 to 2001. He originally played as a striker, before starting to play as a defender in the 1995-96 season. During his management the club also qualified for the UEFA Cup 2005-06. In the qualification he beat Armenian side FC MIKA and Icelandic side Keflavík ÍF, but in the main tournament his side lost to Sevilla FC - the team that later won the tournament.

In 2007, Mainz were relegated, but he remained manager for another season. However, due to the fact that Mainz did not achieve promotion, he left the job after the 2007-08 season; in May 2008, he was appointed as the new manager of Borussia Dortmund. He signed a two-year contract at the club, which had finished in a disappointing 13th place under previous manager Thomas Doll.

Since 2005 he appears as an expert summariser on the German television channel ZDF around international games of the German national football team. His engagement ends after the UEFA Euro 2008. The next pundit will be former German international keeper Oliver Kahn.
