Cortifoam

Cortifoam

Cortifoam (Hydrocortisone Acetate USP) is a topical corticosteroid commonly used to treat Inflammatory Bowel Disease, especially Ulcerative Colitis [1]. The drug is in the form of a foam that is sprayed from a canister into an applicator syringe, which is then administered through the anus. The drug is targeted to relieve inflammation of the rectum, but may also be used for inflammation elsewhere in the colon.[2] Dosage is usually determined according to the severity of the disease.
