McKay Garner is a music producer, musician, mixing engineer and songwriter based in
Los Angeles . His work can be found on recordings fromThe Red Hot Chili Peppers ,Flogging Molly ,Styles of Beyond ,Michael Bublé ,Mike Shinoda (Linkin Park ),J Dilla , Valencia, Sara Melson, Cortés Alexander, and others. McKay has composed music for shows such as America's Next Top Model, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Glory Days, Project Runway, Dawson's Creek and numerous others and mixed a song in the feature film The Transformers. He also wrote a theme for the 2008 Sony Playstation NBA game.His studio is Bounce Inventive Audio in the Atwater Village area of Los Angeles (as seen in the new Sara Bareilles video for the song "Bottle it Up").McKay grew up in North Carolina playing in high school bands as well as several rock and funk bands. He studied music at the North Carolina School of the Arts as a percussion major. He is an endorser of Ableton's Live software and was a clinician for Ableton at the 2008 Namm show. McKay is also an FxPansion BFD artist and info and an interview can be found on the FxPansion website. McKay also demonstrated and helped develop new electronic drum products with Alesis at the 2007 NAMM show.He is currently writing and recording an album with Adam Tenenbaum (also known as Nectar in house music circles) and will be performing frequently in 2008.
McKay is known for his unique approach to electronic drumming using his drumkat/laptop based instrument known as the drumbot. Some videos of this instrument can be found at youtube dotcom when searching for the name "nerdfunk." He has performed IDM shows with The Matic and solo under the name Clicksnob.
