The Center for Knowledge Societies (CKS Consulting Pvt. Ltd.) is a design and innovation consultancy headquartered in Bangalore, India with offices in Delhi. Founded by Dr. Aditya Dev Sood the company conceptualizes and develops products and services that harness the new possibilities of media, communications and technology, especially in emerging economies.

With research experience in Brazil, China, India, Indonesia,Vietnam, Bangladesh, Philippines, South Africa, Egypt and Kenya, CKS compares and synthesizes findings from diverse cultural contexts.

Emerging Economy Report

In 2008, CKS produced the Emerging Economy Report [ [http://www.emergingeconomyreport.com/ Emerging Economy Report ] ] which was a first of its kind innovation guide for organizations who seek to participate in innovation processes for Emerging Economies. The Report focuses on India, China, Indonesia, South Africa, Kenya, Egypt and Brazil and describes numerous opportunity areas whereby information, technology, energy and infrastructure innovations may be pursued. The report employs ethnographic, visual and economic data to build a comprehensive planning tool for corporate strategy, marketing and product-service innovation.

The overall design of the report is intended to serve the needs of corporations seeking to create new products and services for Emerging Economies. Topic areas include:

- Emerging Economy Analytics- Comparative Consumer Studies- Visual, Style and Design Guide- Emerging Societal and User Trends- Innovation Opportunity Themes- Strategic Forecasts

John Thackara, founder of Doors of Perception has reviewed, "the Report would give corporations a new global vision and help them find their societal and environmental mission."

Paranjoy Guha-Thakurta , the noted economist and commentator has written that, "the Report turned conventional wisdom on its head with its insights into why non-industrialized nations have been able to grow rapidly."

Mobile Development Report

Used In India

Used in India is a multimedia installation, which documents and narrates the street innovation and social exchange using technology in India. The installation has been showcased at the British Council, the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi the Kiasma Museum of Contemporary Art in Helsinki [ [http://www.pixelache.ac/2005/helsinki/projects/used-in-india-desc Used in India, Media Practices from the 20th Century] ] , as a part of the PixelAche festival of electronic arts and in Lille, France as part of Lille 3000.
