Parod

Parod (Hebrew: פרוד) is a kibbutz in the Upper Galilee near Safed in northern Israel. It belongs to the Merom HaGalil Regional Council

The community was founded in 1949 by immigrants to Israel from Hungary.

The name "Parod" is based on the name of the ancient Jewish community Paradia. The name, which means "separated," might also hint at the community's location on the border between the Upper and Lower Galilee. The kibbutz was founded under the name "Gardush" to honor a member of the founding nucleus who was killed in the Holocaust.
