End of the Rope is a metal band originating in the Tampa Bay Area of Florida. The band's music separates itself from other bands in it's genre with its unique vocals, catchy guitar riffs and bass-driven lines.

History

The Beginning, "Shades of Loss"

End of the Rope originated in 2002 when Laine La Cava (guitar), and Fred Gray (bass) had a vision. Shortly after, Stress (vocals) contacted End of the Rope by responding to a magazine ad asking for singers to audition. After just one week of practicing with the band, End of the Rope was asked to open up for Pissing Razors. End of the Rope (ETR) went on to play a flawless set.

In late 2002, ETR made their first studio effort and recorded “Shades of Loss.” The demo was well received and opened the door to play every venue in the area. End of the Rope quickly gained momentum and began writing, rehearsing, and playing shows with a fury.

Breakthrough, "Through Callow Eyes"

In late 2003, they entered the studio to begin work on their sophomore release "Through Callow Eyes." This studio effort was one of a much grander vision. The band decided to record 14 tracks with Vinnie Saletto (Genitorturers, KMFDM, Pigface, and Crossbreed) at Black Widow Studios. Erik Rutan (Morbid Angel, Hate Eternal and Cannibal Corpse) mastered the disc at Mana Studios. "Through Callow Eyes" went on to sell thousands of copies. While supporting this album, End of the Rope was invited to play with dozens of national acts such as Otep, DevilDriver, Meshuggah, American Head Charge, Blood Simple, Dope, Motograter, Bile, Endo, Hell Within, The Haunted, Mnemic, Crossbreed, Twisted Method, Six Feet Under, Dry Kill Logic, God Forbid, Hatebreed, and even the legendary Motörhead.

Driven, "Inertia"

After having several tour-supporting sets and a few festivals under their belts, End of the Rope re-entered the studio for the 3rd time in 2006 and recorded their most focused record to date. “Inertia" was the the result. "Inertia" was recorded over a 4 month span at Red Room Recorders with Mark Prator and John Wesley Dearth (Obituary, Porcupine Tree, Lacuna Coil, Andrew W.K., Genitorturers, Sevendust, and Six Feet Under) and mastered at Morrisound Recording Studios by the far-famed Jim Morris.

Shortly after the making of "Inertia", End of the Rope found drummer Ken Ingram. Not only did Ken fill the required shoes, he was busting out of the seams. Before End of the Rope's one month anniversary with Ken, the band decided to take their music to the next level by any means necessary. cite web|url=http://www.myspace.com/etr/ |title=End of the Rope's Myspace]

"Untitled New Album"

End of the Rope is slated to release a new album at the end of 2008. However, guitarist Laine La Cava decided to leave the band for personal reasons in late July 2008. Currently he has not been replaced and the band has not scheduled any other tour dates in the meantime.
