Kevin V. Mulcahy

Professor Mulcahy's research is principally centered on cultural policy and international cultural diplomacy, but he also has extensive experience in American Presidency and American Foreign Policy studies. He is currently the Sheldon Beychok Distinguished Professor of Political Science and Public Administration at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he has taught since 1980.

In addition, he has served as an Executive Editor of the "Journal of Arts Management, Law and Society" since 1997. He is recognized at the national and international level for his contributions to his fields of expertise, and has been honored with many prestigious awards, including a Fulbright Distinguished Fellowship as the [http://hu.wikipedia.org/wiki/Orsz%C3%A1gh_L%C3%A1szl%C3%B3 Laszlo Orszagh] Chair of American Studies in Budapest from 2002-2003.

Professor Mulcahy received his Ph.D. from Brown University in 1977, after having received Masters' honors from Brown and Pennsylvania State University. Prior to beginning his 28-year tenure at LSU, he taught at Claremont McKenna College, Mills College, Queens College-CUNY and the dn|University of Colorado.

Research and Theories

He is best known for his work in taking a lead role in the creation of what is now known as cultural policy.
