Biancur Field, as it was then known, was used by Training Squadron 4 (AKA TRARON 4 or VT-4) of N.A.S. Pensacola, Florida, in the early 60's. The squadron aircraft were T2J Buckeyes; Biancur (AKA Field 6) was used for touch-and-go landings before trainee pilots were allowed to land on board the USS Antietam (CV-36). Meals for the sailors on TAD (Temporary Assigned Duty) at Biancur were supplied by the U.S. Army Rangers at Field 7.
