Apple Valley High School (AVHS) is a public four-year high school located in Apple Valley, California. It is a part of the Apple Valley Unified School District. The school opened in 1967, and was the only high school in Apple Valley until Granite Hills High School, Apple Valley, CA opened in 1999.
Mascot
The school's mascot, the Sun Devil, has been the center of controversy for many years. Over the history of the school the character of the Sun Devil has increasingly become more cartoon-like, as parents were upset with the Satanic references.
