Sam Melville was an American actor born on August 20, 1936 in Fillmore, Utah. He died from heart failure on March 9, 1989 in Los Angeles, California. He is noted for his myriad of guest roles on many popular shows of the 1960s and 1970s, and is best known for his roles of Officer Mike Danko in six seasons of Aaron Spelling's "The Rookies" and of Bear in the classic surfing movie, "Big Wednesday". On Gunsmoke and Hawaii Five-O he played villians
