- Immersion (HCI)
Definition
Everybody is constantly exposed to
stimuli from different origins: visual, tactile, auditory, olfactory, and gustatory. These stimuli are specific from the environment where they are produced; they are part of the atmosphere and the identity of the place. In Human-Computer Interaction, immersion consists in virtually putting the subject in an environment, by artificially recreating the stimuli generated by this environment in reality.
