Gallagher was born in Reading, Pennsylvania and grew up in Wyomissing, Pennsylvania. Her mother, Aileen Gallagher, was a model.[1]
Gallagher has largely worked in television and theatre. Her best-known roles are probably as Garry Shandling's wife on the HBO comedy The Larry Sanders Show, and as Catherine Black, wife of Frank Black (Lance Henriksen) on the TV series Millennium. She had been a regular on Hill Street Blues, The Slap Maxwell Story, China Beach, and Nowhere Man. Other credits include L.A. Law, ER, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and American Dreams. She also had a brief appearance during season 6 of 24. Gallagher starred on Broadway in Aaron Sorkin's A Few Good Men.
Recently, she portrayed "Harper " in Angels In America on Broadway. In 2010, she appeared in the independent film "Alyce" and an episode of The Mentalist.
