About 107.4 Telford FM

107.4 Telford FM launched on May 3rd 1999, and is part of the Midland News Association who locally publish the Shropshire Star, Shropshire Magazine and Telford Journal. Telford FM is MNA Broadcasting's oldest station.

The Telford FM studios are within the Shropshire Star newspaper head office on Waterloo Road, Ketley. The broadcast area covers Telford, Shropshire and the surrounding area including Bridgnorth. The station's name was arrived by a competition in the local newspaper called Telford Journal. MNA Broadcasting also operate two other radio stations: 107.2 MHz The Wyre broadcasting across North Worcestershire and 106.5 FM & 107.1 FM The Severn, which launched in September 2006 across Central and North West Shropshire.

107.4 Telford FM plays [contemporary music] , ("Today's Music and Classic Hits") mainly for 15-45 year old people with music from the last few decades. Telford FM also plays a mix of latest music. At least 12 hours a day are broadcast live on the station and on the local station, people of Telford get to request songs they "haven't heard in ages".

Other content includes Local News covered in detail because of being in the Shropshire Star building in Ketley, Crimestoppers bulletins with local Telford police, Community Noticeboard (showcasing local charity events), Job Search bulletins, Lost & Found features and the local travel news every 10 mins during the weekday show 'Shuttsie at Breakfast' (from 5am until 9am) and Drivetime (4pm-6pm). Travel news also continues through 'The Big Drive Home' show.
