Larry Quinn is an American ice hockey executive, currently the managing partner of the
Buffalo Sabres of the NHL. Quinn is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the franchise and as a partner also owns an undisclosed portion of the franchise.Quinn first joined the team as President in the 1990s and was responsible for hiring current head coach
Lindy Ruff and general managerDarcy Regier in 1997, after he had fired then-GMJohn Muckler and allowed coachTed Nolan to leave after the end of his contract. Quinn was fired in 1998 asJohn Rigas took over the franchise.After the
Adelphia Communications scandal led to the forced divestiture of the franchise, Quinn associated himself with the prospective ownership group led byTom Golisano , initially serving as a consultant. When investor Hormoz Mansouri left the ownership group, Quinn stepped in and was rewarded with a stake in the franchise and essentially earning his old job back as head of the franchise.Quinn has been blamed for many of the problems related to the
2007–08 Buffalo Sabres season , including the losses of Daniel Briere,Chris Drury andBrian Campbell to other teams.When not managing the hockey teams, Quinn's main job was as a real estate developer.
