Normanhurst railway station is a CityRail railway station on Sydney's Northern Line. It serves the suburb of Normanhurst, a residential area.The station has two side platforms.

History

Opened as Hornsby Junction on 21 November1895. The station (and surrounding suburb) was renamed Normanhurst on 1 May 1898 to avoid confusion with the neighbouring station then known as Hornsby Junction (now simply Hornsby station) [cite web|title=OZpedia|url=http://ozpedia.org/Normanhurst,%20New%20South%20Wales] .

Platforms/Service

Platform 1
*Northern line colour>Northern Line - southbound all stations and limited stops services via Epping and Strathfield to Sydney, services then proceed via Town Hall and Wynyard to North Sydney, then Lindfield, Gordon, or Hornsby via the North Shore line colour>North Shore Line.

Platform 2
*Northern line colour>Northern Line - services to Hornsby.

Accessibility

The station has street access to both platforms, but the nearest road over-bridge has steep gradients for wheelchairs. Both platforms have covered waiting rooms.

Shorelink runs two routes via Normanhurst railway station which are:
*Route 587 - North to Hornsby station, south to Westleigh
*Route 588 - North to Hornsby station, west to Normanhurst West
