A Cursive Memory is an American rock band, based in Los Angeles, California.

Biography

A Cursive Memory originates from the Los Angeles area and got its start when Colin Baylen and Shaun Profeta met at a birthday party. Shaun is the brother of Hellogoodbye drummer Chris Profeta. Mark Borst-Smith and Brian Bolen soon joined, forming a band originally called The Vagrants. At first, the band played only covers of some of their favorite bands, such as blink-182 and Jimmy Eat World, but soon started writing their own music. The band released its debut album, "Changes", on Vagrant on February 19, 2008.

The band debuted with a music video for their song "Everything" on the social networking website MySpace. The video was shot while following paparazzi around Los Angeles and featured cameo appearances from celebrities, including Britney Spears, Masi Oka, Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, Hayden Panettiere, Tobey Maguire, Jenna Fischer, Perez Hilton, Hilary Duff, Nick Carter, Dr. Dre, Rick Ross, Criss Angel, Kim Kardashian, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Madonna, David Spade, Aly & A.J., Mary-Kate & Ashley Olsen, Jerry Springer, David Archuleta and Will.i.am. The video created an Internet buzz and set the record for Most Watched Rock Video In One Week on MySpace, after having been viewed more than 500,000 times. The video has since appeared on Fox News, TMZ.com, E! Online, The N and in the top 10 of MTV's "Total Request Live" countdown.

The band has played alongside bands including hellogoodbye, Senses Fail, and Jimmy Eat World. They did a co-headlining tour with Medic Droid across the United States in support of their debut album, "Changes", including an appearance at The Bamboozle Left festival. A Cursive Memory appeared on a leg of the Warped Tour 2008.
