Ethiopian Navy Incident

Sometime in the summer of 1976, two Ethiopian Air Force bombers attacked an Ethiopian Navy ship which was out on patrol along Massawa port. The crew, among which were two class of 76 graduates of the naval academy. They were later captured by EPLF after swimming to safety and travelling across the Sahel for days with out food and water. Their treatment in the hands of EPLF differed and usually depended on the place they were detainded at. They were later (after 11 years) released and joined their families in Ethiopia. To this date there is no official or unofficial acknowledgement of the incident from the Ethiopian Air Force nor is there an explanation offered.
