The Bellevue Police Department is located in Bellevue, Washington. Bellevue is divided into seven districts. BPD does not patrol part of the Eastgate and Beaux Arts Village neighborhoods; the King County Sheriff's Office has jurisdiction to those unincorporated areas.

Community policing

The Bellevue Police Department has various School Resource Officers. They also have a substation at the Factoria Mall, the downtown bus-transfer station, the Spiritwood Manor, and at the Crossroads Mall. Recruiting

The Bellevue Police Departments require new officers to have two years of college education or prior military experience, a GED, a Washington State Driver's License, and a clean criminal record. Bellevue Police have a training center that they share with the Bellevue Fire Department, located at 1838 116th Ave NE. New recruits train with King County Sheriff's Office. Those who pass the academy have in-service training for six months.

Radio and dispatch

The Bellevue Police Dispatch Center is located on the top floor of city hall [ [http://www.eastsidecomm.org/NewEastsideCenter911/NCH041006%20039_JPG.html Eastside Regional Communications Center - The New Center situated on the top...] ] . They communicate using a 800 MHz trunked radio system called Eastside Public Safety Communications Agency (EPSCA).

Relationship with other agencies
