Windmill Performing Arts (also known as Windmill Theatre Company) established in 2002 as a South Australian Government initiative [ [http://legislation.sa.gov.au/LZ/C/R/PUBLIC%20CORPORATIONS%20(AUSTRALIAN%20CHILDRENS%20PERFORMING%20ARTS%20COMPANY)%20REGULATIONS%202001/CURRENT/2001.23.UN.PDF Public Corporations (Australian Children's Performing Arts Company) Regulations 2001] ] is Australia's best knownFact|date=March 2008 professional theatre company for child and young adult audiences. The current artistic director is Rosemary Myers. Since 2002, it has grown into a leading national company. The founding director and creative producer was Cate Fowler (through 2007). The founding patron was children's author Mem Fox (through 2007).
