Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh

Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh or Ipoh City Council (MBI) is a local authority which administrates Ipoh city centre and other areas. This agency is under Perak state government. MBI are responsible for public health and sanitation, waste removal and management, town planning, environmental protection and building control, social and economic development and general maintenance functions of urban infrastructure. The MBI main headquarters is located at Jalan Sultan Abdul Jalil in Greentown.

History

Formerly known as Majlis Perbandaran Ipoh (MPI). Ipoh was granted a city status on 27 May 1988 and is known as Majlis Bandaraya Ipoh.
