Rochester-Genesee Regional Transit Service

The Regional Transit Service (or RTS) is a public transit subsidiary of the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority located in Rochester, New York. The Regional Transit Service was historically known as the Rochester Transit Corporation since it was launched in 1946, and when the primary owner of RTS, which is the Rochester-Genesee Regional Transportation Authority, formed in 1967, the RTC was history. The majority of buses Rochester has been using throughout the years were manufactured from Flxible, GMC, Gillig, Orion, Nova Bus, New Flyer, and NABI. Other particular industries may include M-A-N, which is a foreign based company located in Europe, ElDorado National, and the Motor Coach Industries.

Fares

As of September 1, 2008, RTS has decreased it's fare from a $1.25 to a dollar, making it easier for customers to ride RTS. Their motto for this particular feature is now "Bus for a Buck", while it was previously "One Zone, One Fare" as of 2004, while the fare was still $1.25 since 1991.
