Paul Cromie

Paul Cromie (born 1953) is the chairman of the Bradford branch of the British National Party and a local businessman. While he claims to be born in Bradford, his family is of Irish descent.

In 2004, he stood as a candidate in the Queensbury area of Bradford for the local council elections, where he came fifth behind three Conservative Party candidates. In May 2006, he was successful, beating the sitting Conservative candidate. [http://www.bradford.gov.uk/asp/councillors/details.asp?id=311] . His wife Lynda Cromie has also contested elections for the BNP, winning a seat in May 2007.

In 2005 he stood in Bradford West constituency for the general election, where he came fourth with 2,525 votes - 6.9% of the total votes cast. He was the only candidate not from an ethnic minority background who was standing for the seat.
