John Mangos

John Mangos is an Australian newsreader for Sky News Australia. He is also a host on talk back radio station 2UE and a regular on Sunrise on the Seven Network.

John began his career as a journalist for National Nine News and during his 14 years there covered State and Federal politics before becoming the United States correspondent. In 1989, he joined Graham Kennedy on his late night news and current affairs program Coast to Coast , replacing Ken Sutcliffe. John has also been a newsreader for Eyewitness News on the Ten Network, an international reporter for The Midday Show and the host of his own daytime chat show At Home with John Mangos on the Seven Network for two years.

John has been a newreader on Sky News Australia since its launch in 1996. In 2008, John became a contestant on It Takes Two, a variety show that teams celebrities with professional singers, who each week compete against each other in a sing-off to impress a panel of judges and ultimately the viewing public in order to survive potential elimination.

John lives in Sydney and runs his own media consultancy, Megisti Media, which was romantically named after the Greek island of his family's origin, Kastellorizo.

He is in demand as an after dinner speaker, Master of Ceremonies, seminar mediator and media trainer.

John relishes is noted in frequently donating his time to charity fundraisers. He is a past Patron of the Make a Wish Foundation, a former steering committee member of Jeans for Genes and a current board member of Ocean Watch and the Sydney Olympic Football Club. John is also the Patron of the Trish Cairns Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation at St Vincent’s Hospital.

John is also a passionate supporter and an official ambassador for the Sydney Swans Football Club and has an active interest in the club.

John Mangos passion also lies in cooking and has been teaching cooking classes at the Sydney Seafood School at the Sydney Fish Market for the past thirteen years.

Personal life
