The 458th Airlift Squadron (458 AS) is part of the 375th Airlift Wing at Scott Air Force Base, Illinois. It operates C-12 Huron and C-21 aircraft providing executive airlift.

Mission

History

The 458th conducted replacement training from 19421944 and participated in combat in the Western Pacific from, c. 12 April 1945 – 14 August 1945.

The squadron provided tactical airlift in Southeast Asia from January 1967-February 1972, and military airlift operations worldwide from 1975-1978. The 458th specialized in worldwide aeromedical evacuation from 1978-1990. It conducted airlift in Southwest Asia from August 1990-May 1991.
